Fourth Grade

Fourth Grade was fun and hard sometimes. The most memorable thing I remember about fourth grade was the Invention Convention. It was fun because we got to make inventions and we got to show them to other people. I still have my invention at home. My favorite subject in fourth grade was history. I like history the most because we learned about things that really happened in the past and Mr. Evans always made it fun. My favorite project this year is making my island from Call it Courage. I liked the book and it is fun to find things in my yard and house to make the island. This year I did not like blogging. It always takes me so long to type what I want to say and I would get frustrated. My favorite book this year was Lost on a mountain in Maine. I like Lost on a mountain in Maine because sometimes it was scary and you didn’t know what was going to happen. Also Don was close to my age. I am sad that we had to stay home the last three months of school. It was hard to do school at home and I miss my friends and teachers. I can’t wait to see everyone next year.

Book Log – The Land of Stories

2

Posted by knox | Posted in Third Grade | Posted on March 20, 2020

This week I started reading The Land of Stories by Chris Colfer. This book is about twins, Alex and Conner Bailey. Their grandmother gives them a fairy-tale book that sends them on an adventure. Alex was quiet and very smart, and her brother Conner was always getting in trouble but they both always loved visiting their grandmother. Every night their grandmother and father would read them stories from her big storybook. A few days before the twins turned 11 their father died in a car crash on his way home from the bookstore he owned. After their dad dies, they have a really hard time and lose their house. Their grandmother visits for their birthday and gives them a large, old book with a dark emerald cover that says The Land of Stories in gold writing. It was the book their dad always red them when he was alive. Their grandmother told them she had all the stories memorized and it was for them now. That night Alex looked through the book until she fell asleep, but she heard a humming noise and woke up to find the noise was coming from the book and the pages were glowing. I have not finished this book yet, but I will continue to blog about what I read. Bye!

When we went to the Richmond zoo I felt amazing because I love going tot eh zoo and seeing the animals. when we first got there, there was a goat out of the cage. At lunch it was very yummy. When I ate my lunch I had a sandwich, chips, and a water. I sat next to Channing and Archie at lunch. I saw a black footed African penguin a when we first got to the zoo. I also saw other penguins there. There was one penguin that was right next to me, I sat there next to it and my. Mom took a picture of it. When we tried to take a picture with Channing, the penguin walked away because it looked like it didn’t to take any more pictures. My favorite animal there was the black footed African penguin because I love penguins. At the end, I got a stuffed penguin. it was a black footed African penguin. at home I have another black footed African penguin. All of my other penguins are Emperor penguins. Those are the on,y two that are different species of penguins.

R: I chose this blog because we got to see animals and it was so fun my faverite  animal was the penguin.

I chose the Atlantic Puffin because it is the closest animal to a penguin on the list. In spring its beak turns orange and it can hold 20 fish in its mouth at a time. iT can do this because it has an extra jaw bone. When it is trying to catch another fish, the other fish don’t fall out. The Atlantic Puffin’s predators are the hawks and Eagles. It can be underwater for about 2 minutes. It can go 200 feet down in the water. It also only lays one egg.

R: I chose this one because I got to tell my information.
