La familia en la cocina

In Spanish class we learned about fruits, and then we performed a play!

I was el bebé (the baby), and I said “¡Me gusta la pera!” (I like the pear!)

End of Year Reflection

I liked learning about butterflies, especially the butterfly picture on the wall that started with the egg. I liked learning about the two kinds of trees, deciduous and evergreen. My favorite, favorite thing was learning about birds. Their wings, their body, their beaks, and feathers. Mr. Steinberger’s bird walk was so fun! Beach day was my favorite day. Learning how to spell and answer the right letters in letter book was hard sometimes but I’m 5 now and I know a lot.

Self Portraits

In the first one I am bringing a bag and it looks like I’m going shopping. The dress is pretty because it has a little bottom that is like a tutu. The next one I learned how to draw more. I learned how to draw shoes and buttons. In the next one, I learned how to draw hands and I like those eyelashes because they look like stars. In the last one it looks like I’m going to ballet and I learned how to draw eyes. My hair is having a hair do and it’s like pony tails sticking up and the rest sticking down.

My Daddy

My daddy is Jorge and everyone calls him Jorge except Mommy calls him Gorda. His hair is like kind of blackish-brownish. His hair is short and he doesn’t have a pony. His eyes are kind of green. His beard is flat and it feels scratchy. My daddy is older than some of his friends, and he is so big he can lift me up and put me on the back of him. He’s so strong he can throw me up in the air and catch me.

Daddy’s work is messages and emails and questions and sending things and mailing things and looking at things on his computer. He works at a tall building that is a little bit far away. His work is Ducks Unlimited. My dad is in charge of it and I think it is on East Road. They make supper and they have meetings and have parties. He has a apron he wears to not get his clothes dirty. It’s brown and gray and it has a duck on it.

Daddy has money but my mom doesn’t. She only has a little bit. He gets it from when he works. I think a special person who is in charge of the whole building gives it to him. He works for the money. We have to work first and then we get the money. He goes to the bank and they give the money to him. They only give me lollipops, but when the tooth fairy comes I’ll get money. Daddy’s an adult and the bank ones, they send messages to the mailman, and the mailman sends messages about the money to the bank, and the bank people send it in a cup to Daddy. He keeps his money in his wallet. He has lots of money in his wallet. More than mom. He uses it for paying important stuff.

To relax, Daddy sits on his chair and looks at his phone. He loves to watch hunting movies and season movies. Sometimes we watch with him. He doesn’t really like sports. He doesn’t go to games. He watches football. His favorite team is the brown team. You throw the ball and if someone gets it then people tackle you. Tackle you means you jump on each other and you fall down. It’s not a good game and that’s why I don’t play it. If you throw it and somebody doesn’t get it and it goes in the holder that’s how you win.

Daddy cooks meat from when he goes hunting. I like the duck and the deer. I don’t like bears or pigs. He cooks on the grill every time. One day he cooked strawberries on the grill! It didn’t really taste good.

My daddy is special because he works for lots of important things. I love him because of his kisses and hugs and I’m learning and trying to help him. He loves me because I’m so cute and because I’m beautiful and my grandma and my grandpa and my whole family call me Princess Lucie. I think they do it because I’m the love of my grandma’s life.

My Mommy

My mommy is Madam Ibarra. She looks like a mommy. Her hair is kind of like brownish, blackish. Sometimes she puts make up on her. She puts makeup on her eyes when she’s going to parties because she wants to look pretty, but I think she looks pretty all the time. She puts pencil on her eyes and she puts glitter on her face. She is just so pretty. She is as pretty as a fairy.

My mommy, sometimes in her work, she teaches my whole class how to learn and how to talk in French so we can go to a French party. She works on her computer and she sends emails. She works for Fredericksburg Academy and she sends numbers and important things and words to Ms. Moschetto, so Ms. Moschetto can send them out to the whole FA school.

At home, Mommy cleans the kitchen and she mops the floor. I think sometimes she cleans the ceiling? She cleans the basement with a vacuum and with a scrubber for the bathroom. And for the bathtub she uses a cleaner sprayer. I help her with cleaning the floor with the vacuum and messes that I accidentally made and dirt from guests. She gets tired that’s why we help her. Not often, my brother helps.

Mommy cooks yummy stuff like beef and pies and dessert, which is healthy muffins. For breakfast, she also makes chocolate muffins that are white that have chocolate chips in it. My favorite thing she makes is quiche, the one that has ham and onions too. I do not like mushrooms, but when I grow up I will like mushrooms I think.

My mommy doesn’t often go to Giant, but she does go to Costco. She loves Costco because she can find those mango things. Not the ones that are cooked, but the ones that are dried out. She also likes Costco because they have the apricots. I like Costco too because I can find good things there.

Mommy’s favorite restaurant is Graham Barrel, MaeMae and Pot love it so that’s why she loves it. It has one spot where you can eat and one spot that has candy and stuffed animals and dress ups. And it has a lot of rocking chairs in front. Mommy eats the pancakes. She drinks water. She loves water but not freezing cold water. I think she likes coldish, warm water. She doesn’t eat dessert. And we don’t like pancakes with too much syrup. It hurts your tummy and your throat.

My mommy is special because she goes on dates with dad and babysitters babysit us and then she looks very pretty. I love her because she loves me. She doesn’t want me to go away and I love her. She loves me because she thinks that I’m so beautiful.
