Phonics – We are continuing Kinder Word Building with Long Vowels a, i, o, u

This week we are adding the long u sound.

Write these words in your salt box.          (A shallow pan with a half                 inch of salt or sugar on the bottom)

Now write them from dictation on a lined sheet of paper.

Write this sentence from dictation.

The mule is cute.

Handwriting- Practice writing lower case “y” and “j” on pages 50 and 51 in your orange “Letters and Numbers for Me” book  (Use your very best writing!)

 

Math – Practice with your paper clock to show time to the hour.    3:00, 8:00, 5:00, 10:00, 2:00, 12:00

– Complete the “Telling Time: cut and Paste to Match” worksheet in                 the packet (Week 1 day 4)

    Happy Birthday, Niam

 

Journal Writing – Make a card for Niam! We will show them to him at our                                     class meeting on Thursday.

 

Handwriting- Practice writing lower case “p and “Words for Me”” – pages                             52 and 53  (Use your very best writing!)

 

Math – fold a piece of paper into nine boxes.

Use a deck a cards. Take out the face cards.

Draw two cards. Use those two cards to write an addition problem                            in your first box.

Example:  I drew a 3 of hearts and a 5 of clubs

3+5=_____

Put a problem in each box.

 

Reading – Read a story of your choice.

Draw a picture of the setting. (Where the story takes place.)

Please use things that you find around your house for the dinosaur habitat.

Rocks, sticks, dirt, moss, paper and crayons are all good resources that can be found at home.
