My Daddy

My daddy’s name is Daddy and his eyes are pretty good and he wears glasses to check important papers to make sure if we can cut them or not. When he plays with me he doesn’t wear his glasses. His hair is black and it stays on his head, but it’s not long. It stops on his neck. He is taller than my mom and I think he is like, really, really strong. He could pick up a big chair and he can stand on a chair and be steady.

My daddy’s work is really far away. He has to go to the airport and he stays there until Thursday. He sleeps at a hotel and sometimes we call him. He misses us a lot and sometimes I cry about him because I love him so much. He works first and when he’s done with his work he eats his dinner and goes to the hotel to bed and then he gets up and eats his breakfast and goes to work and does it all over again. I think he doesn’t like his work, I think he likes home more.

I think my daddy has only dollars. I think he gets it from a bank. A bank is something where you save money. They give him money so he can buy stuff. I can’t go to get money because my mom made a deal and I have to collect money. Money is important because it helps you buy stuff that you really, really need. I really need dolls, my dad really needs boy stuff like shoes or a tee shirt. He reads magazines and sometimes he watches TV. He likes to watch Punjabi shows. They are about funny stuff and sometimes they let children sing. I know some Punjabi stuff.

Daddy cooks sometimes. He cooks food that is not mixed up, because I don’t like any food that is mixed up. Sometimes Mommy cooks it for him. He cooks green beans and I don’t like green beans, so he cooks it for himself. He puts it on top of dal but he doesn’t mix it a lot, just a little bit. He makes fulka, like naan or Lisha fulka. Lisha fulka is really crunchy and I like it a lot, but I also like Massi fulka which isn’t crunchy.

Sometimes he says boom-shuck-a-lucka-boom-shuck, it doesn’t mean anything it’s just silly. My dad tickles me sometimes because he likes to be funny and I like it. Sometimes we play Chutes and Ladders. If your ladybug gets all around the rock, you are the winner. I was like the winner for so many times and then one time my dad was the winner.

My daddy is special because he comes back home. I love him because he loves me so much. He loves me because he’s my daddy and he likes to play with me but he also loves me because I do work.
