Due Process and Civil Rights

The Due Process clause in Amendment 5 and 14 play a significant role in our history. Civil Rights were regularly denied for 100 years based on the idea that it’s unlawful to “…deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law…”

And yet, we built the idea of oppression into our society — our word and our world did not match.
