WOW! We’ve collected 79 cans of food so far for the Fredericksburg Food Pantry. Our goal is 100 cans to honor our 100 days of school which is this Monday, February 4th.  If each of our classmates brings in just 2 cans of non-perishable food, we will meet (and exceed) our goal!

Tomorrow is the BIG day in Kindergarten.  We are planning on having lots of fun!  Below are a couple of things to remember:

• Wear PJ’s all day (please no nightgowns)
• Wear slippers all day (don’t forget to bring shoes for PE)
• Bring a sleeping bag or blanket
• Bring a snack
• Bring a board game (NO electronics please)
• Bring a bag for packing everything up
• Label ALL items (blankets, games, etc.) with your child’s name.

We are SUPER excited to share this day with our Kindergartners!

Hello parents!  Take a look inside your child’s Sight Word envelope in the green folder today and you will see the following new Sight Words.

• up
• play
• make
• two
• one

Please take some time to practice identifying and saying these new words with your child. Make a game out of it.

Tape the words around the house and have your child “find” the words and read them to you OR while reading a book, have your child point to one of the new sight words and read it for you.

There are lots of ways to make learning exciting!!

It’s a marriage of language arts and math for some of the writing journal entries. The prompt for this entry was “If I found a lucky penny, I would…..”  This student’s generosity and kindness is an inspiration to us all and makes us so proud!
