This year in French class we did a song exchange! Mrs. Rutil’s class in France enjoyed learning this song from our first grade class so much that they wanted to return the favor to us! Here is a classic children’s song that they sang for us:
To practice learning the meaning of the song, we did several activities in class. For example, we played a matching card game to learn how to say the clothing items that are mentioned in the song.
We also did a relay race outside!
Here is our version of the song, recorded the last day of French class in first grade:
My favorite learning activity this year was Owls because I like reserching facts. I learned that they eat mise. I am most proud of my reserching because it was hard werck.

In French class we had “visitors”: paper dolls named Mathieu and Anais! Here is the post about when they visited me:
On Saturday Charlotte took Mathieu and Anaïs to a Girl Scout cookie booth sale. Every spring the Girl Scouts sell delicious cookies as a fundraiser for their organization. After the cookie sale, they shared a treat at Sweet Frog that afternoon. Sweet Frog is a store where you can choose different toppings to enjoy with frozen yogurt. On Sunday the dolls joined Charlotte for an art class at Liberty Town Art Studio. Then they enjoyed the unusually warm weather touring the outside of Kenmore Plantation, home to Betty Washington Lewis, sister of George Washington, and her husband, Fielding Lewis.
