JK Computer: Week of May 3, 2020

Hello JK!

You have probably heard the word INTERNET a lot. The INTERNET is how one computer talks to another computer. This is how Mrs. Kolotos sends you instructions and pictures every day. The INTERNET also lets your parents and teachers talk and write to each other. When you were in the Computer Lab, we would sit down to the computer. Remember when we clicked on the yellow, green, red, and blue circle? That is how we get to the INTERNET and computer games on ABCYa, PBS Kids, and ABC Mouse. You may have to do that at home. Or you may click on a blue lower case e.

Most of our phones have the INTERNET too! This is how I make videos and send them to you. I also use my laptop computer and mouse. Here is my latest INTERNET video for you. It is about beavers again!

If you would like to see a little more about beavers, click on the link below!

2nd Grade: Week of April 26, 2020

Hello Mrs. Grabfelder’s Class!

The final stories in The Stinky Cheeseman and Other Fairly Stupid Tales. At the end of the book,  I will talk about a part of the book on the back called the ISBN. It stands for International Standard Book Number. The ISBN is a identification number for every book published. There is usually (but not always) a barcode with the ISBN. This also includes each version if the book published. If a book comes in paperback and hardback, the hardback will have one ISBN, and the paperback will have its own ISBN. I can scan the ISBN and access information about the book on different websites and databases that involve books. We do NOT use the ISBN to check out books. Libraries use their own barcode and labeling system for checkouts.
