The Legislative branch makes the laws. It is made up of the Senate and the House of Representatives. They declare war whenever we go to war. There are 435 representatives and 100 senators.535 in Congress all together.

The Executive branch signs bills into laws. There are 15 departments that advise the Presidentcalled the cabinet. The Vice President is the head of the Senate. The president is the head of the Executive branch.

The Judicial branch interprets the laws. There are 9 Supreme Court justices. They serve for their entire life or until they resign. The president nominates them and then the Senate confirms them.

You have to be 18 to vote, have to pay taxes and have to serve to jury. There are checks and balances which means that no branch is more powerful than the other.

On Thursday we had our performance and I was nervous! I wasn’t sure I wanted todo the play but then I took a couple deep breaths and walked on stage. My favorite song was The Optometrist because that was when we went on stage and played the instruments that we wanted to play. I played the temple blocks and I really enjoyed them. I like them because they sounded good. I felt good after because I think I did well.

The first thing that I’m going to tell you about is recess. You get 2 30 minute recesses because I believe that kids should have an hour to play around. They can choose if they want to go outside for recess or stay inside. They can play sports on the big field where the players play soccer and they can play all different kinds of sports. For homework they tell you to run around. They also tell you to get Beyblades   and play with them. The thing they tell you the most is watch lots of TV. Next, for lunch you get free pizza and a free desert of your choice. For reading you have to read The Magic Treehouse,Warriors, or Harry Potter. You have to read for 30 minutes.
