Beach Day!

Beach Day! Inhibitions? Not a one. Insecurities? Not us! Self confident? Oh Yeah!

What a wonderful way to celebrate our year of learning together. We started off with the Beach Boys and some beach day drawings in our journals . . . and a lot of excited running around in our bathing suits! Then we had morning meeting. We played a game where we packed a suitcase for the beach and we had to remember what everyone put in!

We had some fun with Mr. Santulli in music, then we had stations in our room. We made sand castles, star fish and explored some of the stuff Mrs. Kolotos has collected from beaches over the years. Then we had stations in Mrs. Hogan’s classroom! We made jelly fish and sea gulls and played in the water.

Since it was raining and we couldn’t go out we had some indoor fun. We played a Beach Game. Ahhhhhhhhhh, Beach Day!!

The game was a pretend trip to the beach. We got our packed suitcases from this morning, then we got in the car to go to the beach. Mrs. Kolotos was the mom, we were the kids.  We had to stop a few times for bathroom breaks, and a picnic, then we finally got there, We unpacked our stuff and started out across the beach. Owww! Sand was too hot, we had to scream and run back. That happened a couple of times, then we finally got our towels out and headed to the water. Ewww! Too cold! We had to scream and run back to our towels. That happened a couple of times then we finally got used to it. Everyone got in and we were having a great time, when, ahhhhhhh!!! SHARK!!!! And we all had to scream and run out! Thank goodness it was just a dolphin and we could go back in the water! Anything that involves screaming and running multiple times is sooooo much fun!! (For us at least, we’re not sure what the other classes thought about it, but Mrs. Kolotos said not to worry!)

We finished our day by getting to choose a beach treasure from Mrs. Kolotos’s collection. Beach day was awesome.   —–   When is Field Day???
