The Never-Ending Tunnel

It was a dark Saturday night , and my classmates and I were on the train from Berlin to Vienna. The class trip was already off to a bad start, first our plane’s tires almost popped mid-air, but the pilot noticed before in time, then the bus that took us to the Paris hotel almost crashed into a lamppost, and even our Paris hotel wasn’t that great, the chairs and beds had cigarette burn marks on them, and the tubs were super dirty, and our shower head was rusted. Berlin was fine, the only thing that wasn’t was everything! people yelled at us, and didn’t think we liked them. I sure hope Vienna is better, much better. All of a sudden, every light on the train went out, it was too dark to see anything, so we all just waited until they came back on, they didn’t. eventually somebody got up and left, bad idea. the train was still moving and the engineer didn’t notice that they fell, so we kept moving. and finally, after 10 minutes, he stopped. so suddenly, that we all thrust forward. as we all left the train, we suddenly realized we were somewhere in a tunnel, covered in foliage, deep, and damp. I went to the engine and the engineer was dead “murdered! who would do such thing?” I muttered. after all, what did the engineer do? as i looked up I saw to glowing red eyes staring at me. I jumped back 5 ft.! people noticed me and said “are you okay?” “i’m fine” I responded, undoubtedly hiding the fact that there was a monster here “maybe we should leave” somebody said but when we tried to, the tunnel kept going on, and on, and on. I suddenly realized something; “maybe, when you enter, the tunnel  stretches out farther and father until you can’t see it’s exit!”  Even if we decided to walk the whole way, the tunnel would stretch farther and death would certainly stalk us.  while we were collecting sticks for a fire, somebody said “Hey, this one time I heard about Paul revere’s son being stuck in a tunnel during his dad’s midnight ride, he managed to escape and claims it was magic!”  “but that’s impossible!”  I said “How can this tunnel and that other one be the same! This tunnel’s in Europe and that tunnel’s back in the US? And its 2020! That was in 1775!” “could be magic, like George said” “Washington?”  somebody else said “No! Revere! George Revere!” they said back. After we collected sticks and set up a fire, we sat around the fire to keep warm. When we were going to bed, I suggested sleeping in train. ” Good idea, it will keep us warm.” someone  said, “And we have sleeping bags in there too!” another person said. It was true, we did have sleeping bags. But they were for emergencies only. I guess this was an emergency. we all had our own, but none of us could actually get any sleep. around midnight, we all heard a growl. “it must be somebody’s stomach” everybody (except me) agreed on that. I knew it was the monster. I could sense that it was on the roof, waiting for in next victim. I’m pretty sure that the kid who fell off was its dinner, and we’d be its dessert. But then I remembered, I had that crossbow that i bought in Berlin, I could shoot it with that! I told everyone my plan, we got straight to work, somebody else bought arrows so I asked if i could used them and they agreed. First, I needed a distraction. We used a rock that we found, and boy, was it big! Big enough that it would get the beast’s attention. It did. Next I loaded the crossbow, very quietly, so the beast wouldn’t hear us. Then we opened the window. Unfortunately, the window was very squeaky, so the beast heard us.It was charging for us when I fired it, Hit! We killed it! Everybody cheered! Luckily somebody knew how to reverse the train, so we weren’t stuck here after all. Once we got out, we called for a rescue helicopter, They came and, The end
