Last week 3rd grade went on a field trip to the Metro Richmond Zoo. I was with Luke and Nate’s mom. Luke and Nate Were with me too. First we saw my favorite animal, the SNOW LEOPARDS!!! Then we saw the tiger. We couldn’t see the tiger then we saw a show they had an albino snake and an armadillo and then we went to the animal nursery and there were baby spider monkeys. They were so cute and next to them was a Komodo dragon. There were giraffes which I got to feed with the free food we found at the white rhinos then we saw the lions but the male lion wasn’t looking at us then we went to lunch. I had taqitious and cheez-its after last nch we went to the gift shop I got a snow leopard and it’s arms were like a slap bracelet. So when you hit his arms on yours, he wraps his arms around yours and I named him Oliver. Next we saw the herrrens and flamingos then we saw the tiger again and it was looking at US! Then we went back to the lions and the male lions was facing us so we could see the mane. After that we got on the bus and went back to the school.
My Endangered Species Project
In third grade we had been studying endangered species. My animal is the snow leopard. The snow leopard lives in cold areas which you might guess from the name.The snow leopard has rosettes not spots. Rosettes are rings and spots are just solid black. In the winter the snow leopard is white but in the the summer they are yellow.
Their habitat is in the Himalayas from Russia to India but none in Mongolia. The mountains they live in have heights of 59,00 -18,000 ft. That’s pretty high if you ask me.
They’re carnivores so they eat meat like mountain goats, deer, pikas, and other livestock they reproduce once a year with 2-3 cubs a group of snow leopards is called a litter.
One of the adaptations is that they have strong lungs because they’re isn’t a lot of oxygen in their dens and they have thick paws to help them walk on the snow to keep their feet from sinking in the snow.
A reason they are vulnerable is that climate change is melting their snow and deforestation. Deforestation is when trees get cut down and used for other things we don’t need like paper and desks. Another one is poaching. Poaching is illegal hunting the animal for its skin, body parts, and sometimes valuable substances.
There are 7,000 in the wild and 600 in captivity (that means in zoos and reserves) so there are 7,600 total snow leopards in the world. Reserves are areas protected by the government to help the animal from going extinct.
Did you know they use their urine to mark their territory? And they have the longest of the cat family? They also have pale green eyes which unusual for cats. the word leopard is Greek. Uncia uncia is the scientific name.
If I was head of the lower school
If I was head of the lower school I would give the teachers a good hot chocolate and thin mint breakfast because who doesn’t love thin mints? And they’re even better dipped in hot chocolate mm yum!
Next I will have a three hour recess we will be tired so that’s why I’m going to put out Gatorade jugs of water on a table for 3rd grade on the soccer field and playing kitty virus (the game I will pick to play because I’m bored of pac-man and Knox being it I mean why is Knox always pac-man?)
Lastly there will be a dance party at lunch with a disco ball and a punch bowl and everything! Mr Evans will go like DANCE PARTAY!!!!! (Not a typo)
Winter break
When I’m on winter break I will be at Disneyworld. I will drive all the way from here to Florida but first I will stop at Savannah for a night and have dinner at this really cool pirate restaurant then we really go to Orlando! I will go with my mom & dad. I will have most of the dinners in disney like on Tuesday I will go to this seafood place in magic kingdom called coral reef where you get to eat with adorable fishies!!!!!!! My favorite ride at Disney is splash mountain that’s what I will do over break.
When I’m a 100 Years Old
When I’m a 100 years old my job would be a farmer because I would be at my cousin’s farm. I wouldn’t be married. I would live in Dublin (of course). Sometimes I will head out to the city I will also go to Arizona because my grandparents live there. anyway, back to Ireland In my free time I will play a lot of chess and take care of the cows.

Défilé de Mode: French class fashion show!
In French class we learned clothing vocabulary and had a fashion show- un Défilé de Mode! Teagan was my partner and we presented each other’s outfits as we walked on the runway. C’était magnifique!
Ancient Rome day
Last Tuesday was ancient Rome day. First we did a tour my favorite was circus maximums next we did tortoise formation. Tortoise formation is a battle formation the Romans did to protect their selves then we ate Roman food and wore togas I liked every thing because they were all awesome and that was ancient Rome day.
R: I chose Ancient Rome day because the tortoise formation was so cool. We used shields we made with paint.
My New Year’s resolutions
My New years resolutions are that I will do my homework when I go to falcon club and getting it straight away (if they let me.) but they do let me get my homework ready. next I will eat healthier like eating an apple a day. Then I will read more I want to raise my weekly reading minutes to 150 minutes (Can I Mom?) in conclusion i will do my homework eat healthier and read more.
My Holiday Break
On my holiday break we will go to New York City. We will stay in Woodlawn, the Bronx. Woodlawn is probably the most Irish place in new York! saying because New York is the most Irish state in The United States of America! I don’t know what we’ll do maybe spend a day in Times Square! we’re gonna eat (when we’re in) Brooklyn pizza not just any pizza BROOKLYN PIZZA!!!!!!
Thanksgiving
Next week will be Thanksgiving. I will celebrate it with my brother and sister Drew and Elinor at my house. I don’t really like the Thanksgiving food. After the food, we all play Apples to apples we didn’t do this last year. I am thankful for my life because I do a lot of fun stuff in my life.
