The Pluses and Minuses of a Four Day School Week.

The following is the discussion of the pluses of this topic.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              A four day school week would be great because of the following. A beautiful extra day to quickly finish hard homework would be extremely helpful considering we would want to maximize our nice time to quietly relax. Another good reason this amazing schedule would be great is that we would get a tad more recess, this would get our clogged blood flowing and help us quickly focus. Something that would truly be spectacular is that if we have extra hours of the long school day that means we could on some days get our homework done so we will have some hours left in the great day while we are at out nice home. Something grand about this feature is you have a three day weekend to enjoy! In conclusion there are many good things about a four day school week.               The following is the discussion of the minuses of the topic.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            A four day school week would be horrendous because of the following. A reason this would be terrible is because we would get very antsy and that would extremely terrible! Which brings me to my next point, it would be tremendously hard to focus on our assignments. We would also feel incredibly stiff  and we would get terrible cramp. As well as getting very bored from all the tedious learning. In conclusion there are many bad things about a four day school week.                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Therefore there are many good and bad things to consider about a four day school week!

R: The reason why this blog post is my one of my favorite is because it shows both sides to a story. A person in a debate would be defending one side, this is very one sided obviously and people need to see the good in both sides. There are good and bad to each of the sides. This also showcases the growth in my writing since this piece is more recent than the Hatchet writing. I love the development that I have showed in this writing, it is truly spectacular in my opinion. So you see, that is the reason why this blog post is one of my favorites.

My New Year’s Resolution!

In 2019 I want to do fun exercise daily. To do this hard challenge I will find more fantastic songs to dance to. Bringing me to my next great plan. I must do more dancing so not only can I be a lovely dancer but great at exhausting fitness. I will set loudly motivating alarms and alerting reminders to let me know that it is time to do some fun exercising! I will also ask some smart friends of mine to remind me and ask about my session while I am on the fast treadmill I will listen to enlightening audio books, read spectacular books, listen to my calming Head Space, jam out to great music, and watch suspenseful shows to get my blood pumping fast. I will do lovely stretches. I must remember that peaceful yoga counts as well. Finally I will find fun exercises in my daily routines. In conclusion I will complete my challenging New Year’s Resolution this year for I have a foolproof smart plan.

Earth Day!

The Earth is struggling to be a clean, happy, and non polluted place because of well, US! Now you are probably saying, “No! I am a good human, I’d never do a…monstrous thing like that! What kind of human does that? Society disgust me these days!” Here is your reality check lets be honest we have all dropped a piece of a straw rapper from a Capri-sun or dropped a piece of paper even I have and I regret that day very, very, very much and we have all thought, “Someone will pick it up!” That is right that person was supposed to be you therefore nobody else ever did. So to help the Earth out because even Earth needs a little help cleaning up! I will ride my bike around the neighborhood and pick up recyclable items/trash if they are trash I will put them in the nearest trash bin if they are recyclable items I will put them in a recycling bin. Now take a moment to close your eyes and think of what you can do for the Earth. Take a deep breath through your nose, what? You smell something…awful? I can tell you exactly what that is the smell of fumes from labor trucks giving off awful smells from what is either churning in that truck. Try to think up away for those trucks to stop giving off fumes and try to make signs to recycle and don’t litter and look at something before you throw it away, think to yourself and say, “Am I able to reuse this in some sort of way?” Thank you so much for tuning in have a wonderful day and an even better Earth Day!

Our Simple Machine: A Catapult

Today we had a project to do. We had to make a catapult out of ,

  • Large Tongue Depressor
  • Tape
  • Water Bottle
  • Dixie Cup

It was a hard project but of course we did it! This took me three times to get it to work properly. The first trial it worked, just didn’t go far, the second trial the ping pong ball would not go out of the Dixie cup, my third trial worked but didn’t make it off the grid so I didn’t go into the showdown. The showdown was just testing your catapult and taping the mark of where the ping pong ball hit and writing your name on the tape.

Rules:

  1.  Once the ping pong ball bounced that was where it’s mark was
  2. We could only use our materials to make our catapult
  3. You are aloud to rip your materials but you are not aloud to open the water bottle

I loved this unit because we always did fun experiments!

Virginia Beach (But Not So Much Of The Beach Part)

I had the best vacation ever literally and not figuratively! First of all it was just my mother and me no Allie, no Andy, no father, just my mother and me. Where did we go? Well if you didn’t get the memo from the title we wen’t to Virginia Beach! For breakfast we had waffles and orange juice with syrup drizzled on the top, my favorite food there was the waffles because I made them by myself, but the batter was already made you just put it in the pan. My favorite part of breakfast there was making one of the workers smile she was laughing because I had a lot of modest humor.(as in it was appropriate). We signed up for this thing where it gives you an upgrade to a suite so when we got in there I said “Wow so where is the suite?” Apparently a suite is just entrance room with a couch and T.V , but it was still pretty cool because we got to walk out on a balcony to a oceanfront view! The pool, the pool, how do I say this the pool was awesome mentally and physically! It had lights shining into the pool and it was just us in the pool! I would change the smell, it smelt like seven bottles of fertilizer had just been sprayed everywhere it was terrifying in it’s own weird way. The one thing I wouldn’t change is making people smile, actually make it two making people smile and going there. Thank you for tuning into story time with Elizabeth. That’s a wrap.

Our Chariot Challenge!

Today we had to do a “Chariot Challenge”  We had a couple of choices, yogurt container or plastic cup, popsicle stick or no popsicle stick? Rubber bands or no rubber bands? Skewer or no skewer?  We had a lot of choices to make so here is everything I used and what I used the item for!

  • Yogurt cup: Inside of chariot.
  • Skewer: To go in the wheels.
  • Bottle caps: The wheels.
  • Popsicle sticks: Push pulley system/decoration for horse
  • Rubber bands: Reigns for horse.

We had to go back and forth to make this project work, and had to make decisions like if we wanted to use hot glue or not (and to be honest most of us did!) A lot of us drew what our chariot was going to look like and we ended up having something that looked like that but with a lot of stuff added on. This was the process of trials. Trial one was our original chariot, trial two was what it ended up like next, and so on and so on.

What I predicted that was going to be difficult was getting the wheels to move the chariot, no one got it to move. How I was approaching this challenge was that I would work hard, have patience, and try again. One of my ideas was for me to have a stick for me to pull.

In the end it did not fall apart.

I loved this challenge!

Hunt v.s Beauty

A long time ago on Mount Olympus (The home of the gods) Aphrodite had used Artemis’ sword to cut off stray hairs, and Artemis had used Aphrodite’s make up supplies to make colorful targets to shoot  at. Artemis found out as well as Aphrodite, they both came to each other, they’re was nothing but crickets for a second or two. All of a sudden all you could hear is “You took my make up!” “Well you took my sword and left hair all over it!” “Well you got dirt all over my make up!” “Well now my sword looks like a cat!” “Well at least I know how to use the make up!” So they went to war, and they tied they couldn’t decide who won so they fought over that. Finally they wen’t to ask Athena so they wen’t to the Parthenon! They got Athena’s advice and she said “I didn’t see the fight and since it was a tie you can try not to take each others stuff anymore” They were not satisfied so Athena made a deal with them “Okay, okay Aphrodite can have a golden chariot for the rest of your life, and Artemis can have new hunting supplies that will never break” so they did but the next day, “Aphrodite why are you using my arrow as a hair piece!?”  “Well why are you using my hair curlers as something to go in your sling shot?!” And you thought it was going to be peaceful didn’t you? The end!

R: I like this blog because I used a lot of humorous and witty commentary in this fiction! I like writing fiction because I have a more reliable structure. Fiction lets my mind explore!

My Favorite God or Goddess

In third grade we started to learn, read, and talk about Gods and Goddess. It was a very interesting topic to learn about and I am very sad we are about to move on. I want to tell you about my favorite Goddess. Her name is Athena, Athena is the God of wisdom and war. I’ll start from the beginning, this may sound weird but Athena was not born she popped out of Zeus’ head. You may be thinking “Well that’s it i’m out of here.” Well I may be able to change your mind about that. Athena had a building called the Parthenon that was dedicated to her, the Parthenon had a big statue of Athena in the building. The Parthenon is still standing but is not looking it’s best. The Parthenon is between demolished and needs to be rebuilt. Anyway I think Athena is a good God, Actually let me rephrase that I think Athena is a great, wonderful, and beautiful (even thought she is a God of war and wisdom)  God.
