Hello FAmilies,  Fourth and fifth graders shared a magical afternoon witnessing local visiting artist Ed King’s inception, execution, and completion of two oil paintings! Jack-o-lanterns, both real and drawn in student sketchbooks, appeared in Ed’s first two paintings.   Excited chatter and interest filled the room as Ed painted.  Eager with questions and observations, students discovered many thoughts and actions that an artist must merge in order to create works of art.  Our grand finale: fifth graders observed a noble gargoyle materialize set against a dark sky and full moon, created exclusively for our FA auction. Thank you, Ed, for giving us the gift of experience and an auction project to bid for next March…stop by the LS art room to see this piece in person!
