Les vacances chez Jorjica

Mathieu and Anais came home with Jorjica for Spring Break. Unfortunately, she and her little brother were sick for the first half of their vacation.

Here are Mathieu and Anais taking medicine with Jorjica. YUCK!  Mommy had to make a big plate of brownies so that she and her little brother would take their medicine every day!

Once they started feeling better, they still had to rest around the house. Jorjica and her big brother decided to play a video dancing game to get some exercise. Everyone had lots of energy to dance!

Dancing sure can make you hungry! Jorjica offered Mathieu and Anais a treat she knew they would love…some french baguette!

That really hit the spot!
Still, not yet recovered, Jorjica thought a quiet game of chess might be a good idea.

The children recovered just in time for an appointment…at the dentist! All three children were well behaved, so Mommy rewarded them with a trip to McDonalds for chicken nuggets, fries and milkshakes. Their favorite part is always playing on the playground afterward.

On their last night together, she read them a bedtime story…

And they all snuggled in for a good night of sleep. It’s back to school tomorrow!

Thanks for staying with the Stumborg family Mathieu and Anais. It’s off to your next adventure!

Love,
Jorjica

Dans la bibliothèque

Mrs. Atkins

Mrs. Atkins is our librarian. We can always count on her to help us when we need to find a book. She suggested a book to go along with our song “That’s a nice little farm.” We are sending you a copy so that you can read it too! It’s called “Apples and Pumpkins.” You should receive the package in a couple of weeks!

UPDATE: On March 27, Madame Rutil posted these photos of her students with the book and reported that they were thrilled to receive the package from us!

La classe de musique

Mr. Santulli

Mr. Santulli is our music teacher. He helped us learn this song for our Harvest Celebration, which we performed back in November. We want to teach this song to you! Here is a video of us singing the song and playing instruments to accompany it.

On the triangles: Ollie, Liam and Zoe

On the drums: Taro and Levi

On the cymbals: Knox and Teagan

On the maracas: Charlotte and Jorjica

The weekend chez Charlotte

On Saturday Charlotte took Mathieu and Anaïs to a Girl Scout cookie booth sale. Every spring the Girl Scouts sell delicious cookies as a fundraiser for their organization. After the cookie sale, they shared a treat at Sweet Frog that afternoon. Sweet Frog is a store where you can choose different toppings to enjoy with frozen yogurt. On Sunday the dolls joined Charlotte for an art class at Liberty Town Art Studio. Then they enjoyed the unusually warm weather touring the outside of Kenmore Plantation, home to Betty Washington Lewis, sister of George Washington, and her husband, Fielding Lewis.

Mathieu and Anaïs spent the weekend with Levi. They went exploring by the Rappahannock River. They also got to help Levi’s dad in his work as an arborist. They helped to take out an old tree from behind the school!

Mathieu and Anaïs went on a trip to the mountains of Virginia with Knox. They spent the weekend at a resort called The Homestead. They did lots of fun and interesting activities! They went ice skating, horseback riding, swimming in the pool, and they even played in the snow! It was awesome!

French Read-alouds on Tumblebooks

I just discovered a wonderful resource available via the Central Rappahannock Regional Library. There is a website called Tumblebooks where there are hundreds of storybooks available in digital form, with each page read aloud. Imagine my delight when I found a tab labeled “Language Learning” with lots of French storybooks available too! There are also chapter books that are not read aloud. This would be a great resource for any level, from the Lower School up to the Upper School! And it’s FREE!

Here is the link to the French books:

And there are Spanish books too:
